WUSA9 is the 4th oldest Washington DC TV station, beginning operations in 1949. CBS Washington DC is a respected outlet for Washington DC news, and it was the starting point for such notable broadcasts personalities as Walter Cronkite (the first anchorman of DC Channel 9), and Sam Donaldson who both gained national acclaim with CBS News, and ABC News, respectively. Also James Brown, and Warner Wolf of CBS sports also got their start on DC Channel 9.
