If you don’t have cable, and don’t want to pay for services during tournament time, things get a bit more complicated.

But there is an easy way to live stream nearly every NCAA game without paying a penny. Here’s all you need to do.

Step One: To watch the games airing on CBS for free (without a paid TV subscription), get the NCAA March Madness Live app. The app is free, and although you have to log in with TV provider credentials to watch the NCAA games playing on TNT, TBS, and truTV, there’s no login needed to live stream CBS games. That’s especially good news since the final-round games will air on CBS. The March Madness Live app is available for:

+ iPhone and iPad, from the Apple App Store

+ Android devices, from Google Play

+ Amazon Fire Tablets, from Amazon.com

+ Roku

+ Apple TV

+ Amazon Fire TV

+ Windows 10

Step Two: To live stream NCAA games playing on TBS, TNT and truTV without spending any money, sign up for a free trial of Sling TV. Sling TV is an Internet TV service from DISH. You can watch on your living room set, a computer, or a device. They’ll give you one week of free access before you’re asked to subscribe, so if you time it right you can stream a lot of March Madness basketball for nothing. Again, games in the later rounds will be on CBS, so you’ll get more bank for your zero bucks by using Sling TV to watch the earlier games. Go to Sling.com to sign up.

And that’s it. That will let you watch the maximum number of NCAA March Madness games for free.

If you don’t have cable but are willing to pay a bit for the special occasion, check out all the other ways to live stream March Madness this year.
